The Riverside Recreation Reserve is located on Crown Land at 96-98 Riverside Road, Dooen, VIC Australia, and adjacent to the Wimmera River. 

It is a Public Reserve for all the community to enjoy. (*Please Note - Facility Fees apply for usage)

The Riverside Recreation Reserve has a number of facilities and are available for hire by the general and equestrian community for meetings and events, overnight stop overs /short term stays and for Equestrian clubs to conduct suitable competitions.  We also host three equestrian clubs and have a range of individual memberships (see below).

Our *equestrian-related facilities include:

  • fenced show jumping arena 75 x 30 metres (all weather surface)

  • grass arena (can hold 2 full size portable arenas, also available for hire),

  • fenced sand arena 60 x 30 metres,

  • indoor arena 60 x 20 metres + lights, with adjoining kitchen

  • 28 x steel yards,

  • horse wash bay,

  • steel round yard

  • fully equipped club rooms with functional kitchen,

  • toilet and shower facilities (including disabled amenities),

  • external power available,

  • cross country training course (up to PC Grade 3)

  • a large all weather car parking area

Our resident Equestrian clubs:

The Riverside Recreation Reserve is home to three (3) equestrian clubs-

  • Horsham Pony Club (HPC) has members with a minimum joining age of 4 years - 25 years of age. Their rally day is the 1st Sunday of the calendar month at RRR. (Please refer to The HPC Group Page for further info)

  • Horsham & District Equestrian Sports Club (HDESC) is an official HRCAV club with minimum joining age from 15 years. HDESC hold rallies on the last Sunday of the month at RRR (Please refer to HDESC Group Page for further info)

  • RDA Horsham: RDA Horsham is a voluntary, non-profit organisation which develops the abilities of, and enriches the lives of people with disabilities through sporting, therapeutic, educational and recreational equestrian activities in the Horsham and district area.

Rallies are held every Friday and every second Wednesday during School Terms and incorporates horse riding, carriage driving and equestrian vaulting in its programs.  Coaches are accredited with RDA and the Australian Sports Commission.
